STRAPPED

I've been working on a comic book pitch with writer Swifty Lang called STRAPPED (originally called The Surrogate). It's about a surrogate mother who goes on the run. It takes place in Miami and I decided to give the comic a faded textured look to give it a grindhouse tone befitting of the story's thriller atmosphere.
Here's the cover, page 1, some panels, and a title splash page I put together for the pitch, which is actually 7 pages long plus the cover.

Panel from Comic Book

Here's a panel from a potential comic book I'm currently collaborating on called The Surrogate with writer Jon "Swifty" Lang. We're in the very beginning of putting together a pitch consisting of several pages. I'm doing the pencils, inks, colors, and lettering for the project. I've always enjoyed all aspects of comic book creation and have strove to excel in all the various crafts that go into a fully colored and lettered page. It takes time to get all the elements together for a comic, but it's the art form I enjoy creating most. This is just one panel, the top third to the first page, an establishing shot of the Miami location used in the book. We hope to share more of this project in the future.

Man Cop!!!

Man Cop is an independent comic being put together by Chris Bramante and drawn by me. We've set up a donation fund using the website Kickstarter, wherein we hope our first book would be finished with the help of much needed finances. Here is the cover and and first seven pages of the book. If you would like to donate to the project, please go HERE! Please check out www.mancop.com to see more about Man Cop!

Zenescope Entertainment's Grimm Fairy Tales: Dream Eater Saga #08 Sinbad One-Shot

Here are the first dozen of the pencils I did for the comic book. Other talented people did the script and coloring of the finished book. I've never drawn any arabian-themed subjects before, so this book was fun to research for.
This comic was part 8 of Zenescope Entertainment's Dream Eater Saga, which was a company wide cross-over of their various universes and characters.
Please go out to your local comic shop and pick up the issue!

Jazmin Mock Up

Here's an example of my recent attempts at drawing digitally using Photoshop. I worked entirely on the computer for this piece, using my Wacom tablet as a digital "brush" to "ink" the image. I also wanted to personally try my hand at lettering on the computer too, using Adobe Illustrator. I've never done this before and I'm happy with the results. I had no plans for this piece, just that I wanted to showcase my character Jazmin, who fights zombies in the far future. It looks like a page from a story, but I just wanted to invoke the mood I'd like to use in a possible full Jazmin story. My next step is to color this using Photoshop...

Growing Up with Video Games colored

Here's a colored version of a strip I did in college. I wanted to mess around in Photoshop and get my coloring skills going. Here's the inked version: Growing Up With Video Games inks

Here's a black and white version of the colors. I like to look at my colors in grayscale to make sure that their is good contrast. That way, an image can "pop" more, and they'll be a better sense of depth to the image.

Freedom, Love

Here's an illustration I had in mind for awhile. I like the visual impact of the American military conflicting with the words in the back. Ink on bristol with additional shading with pencil.

Growing Up with Video Games

This is a strip about the video game generation growing up now, and I'm one of them. Although I got my start on the first Nintendo, not the Atari 2600, I feel many of my peers can relate to this strip. Ink on bristol.
