SCHMUCK

I did a short story with Seth Kushner, an amazing photographer who has taken portraits of celebrities and artists which have been published all over the place. He also loves comics and decided to do a short autobiographical series showcasing one man's neuroses in searching for love. Working with a myriad of artists, he asked if I could do one entitled The One, which is related to The Matrix. Please check out the website that he shares these stories at and also check out the other short stories to see the variations in art and style (this link is to the story I worked on): http://welcometotripcity.com
The website is also home to many other artists and storytellers and showcases a cross section of pop culture to personal stories.

Terminus Team-Up #2 Pencils

I did pencils for an issue of Terminus Team-Up, published by Terminus Media. Here are a few sample pages from the issue, a time traveling tale that fits in dinosaurs, Neanderthals, Pompeii and steampunk wrapped up in a story between a woman and man. These will be inked by Rich Perotta, an inker who has done work for a lot of comic publishers and will be colored. I'll post up more pages once the book is released. These are penciled on 11"x17" bristol board.

SYNERGY

These are illustrations of Synergy, a character I didn't design but was hired to illustrate. He's an adversary of CHIP: A 21st Century Superhero that I've done various illustrations for.

LARVAE VHS cover

Here's a fake mock up of a VHS cover made for a director friend and the movie he's planning to make. Take a look at the MOLD! movie poster I painted for him HERE. This was digitally painted in Adobe Photoshop and I used various scans of VHS covers I found at this amazing website called VHS Wasteland, check it out HERE.

80's SHAMUS

I've always been a fan of the 80's chrome lettering that was so prevalent during that decade. The airbrush really brought in that aesthetic of gradients which worked perfectly for rendering shiny metallic textures. The standard chrome with a reflecting desert horizon encapsulates that style perfectly. Above is my attempt at giving my name that look. Below is a piece I put together for a friend of mine. These were started out as text in Adobe Illustrator and I finished them in Adobe Photoshop.

SHAMUS BEYALE!!!

Here's a promotional poster I put together to be shown alongside my business cards. I was inspired by the poster for the amazingly awesome GRINDHOUSE movie of Rodriguez and Tarantino fame.
I overdid the textures on this piece, but I was messing around and practicing with adding wear and tear. I researched and found some amazing websites showcasing movie posters, which you can check out HERE and  HERE. I'm a fan of the painted variety of film posters, I think that they build up anticipation for viewing the film a lot better than Photoshopped floating heads and "photo illustrations" of today's output.
